Can you destroy the sun in dawnguard

Anyone who could possibly apose the vampires are candidates for joining them as well. I think Elves are less likely to join because they already live a long time so it could be redundant until you're several hundreds of years old and don't want to die. The only group that would be against the vamps would be the companions, as they are with the law college was shunned and they are werewolves. I'd assume possibly not based on everything noted here so far.

Since they're counted as undead in the lore. And a draugr doesn't exactly eat. I think the vampires would rise to power using the gained status from having no sun. As for many people stating about whether or not vampires need to feed on human blood it's simple.

Vampire's are immortal and can only be killed by A a physical attack such as stabbing them or B using magic to disintegrate them. Vampires do not technically need to feed but it is the only thing that allows them to blend with normal society and control their powers easier. If all vampires needed to feed then wouldn't it be misleading to have only 2 or 3 thralls at places such as Castle Volkihar. Althugh they eat because of hunger. If I messed something up please let me know.

The Sun isn't permanently blotted out by "fulfilling the prophecy" e. Being such an exclusive clan of vampires, the Volkihar would only last for so long before the entire continent of Tamriel unites against them.

A united Tamriel has dealt with much worse like the Sload invasion. The Volkihar, being vampires, would still be weak against Fire as well.

Any relatively competent mage or spellsword that could handle flame spells could be a match for them. Explore Wikis Community Central. Register Don't have an account? Elder Scrolls Explore. Elder Scrolls Online. Events Characters Factions Locations Concepts.

I got comments from vampires like "The tyranny of the sun is over! Now onto the theory part. More Vampires become Vampire Lords. More below They're simply too weak, not to mention any pyromancer or even torch-wielding person can kill a simple vampire in a minute or two. Dawnguard has a lot of inconsistencies. If you killed Serana immediately like a vampire hunter Harkon would be screwed unless he managed to find Valerica. Of course that assumes that he needs to sacrafice her and not just collect her blood but if that's the case burn the body.

You could also kill Gelebor to seal off the bow or collect the bow and put it somewhere inconspicuous, like the bottom of the ocean. It makes more sense to deal with the problem at hand aka Harkon rather than postpone the prophecy like what Valerica did to serana.

That isn't the right choice. Whole point of dawnguard is to stop harkon plan of pointlessly killing his daughter over a prophecy he knows nothing about. Killing Gelebor renders the bow inaccessible. Moving the bow means they can't find it the same way you did, finding it at a random point on the bottom of the ocean is much more difficult.

Killing Serana means they don't have the blood. The issue is Harkon's ideals is quite radical with a prophecy that isn't even accurate since he knew nothing about it other than some information here and there, plus on both storylines though different leads you to stop harkon by changing the prophecy that benefits the dragonborn and Serana.

It was also predestined to some extent for the bow to be found. Gelebor and Vyrthur hints at this when you meet them. I'm not expecting my personal decisions to be canon I'm just pointing out that if you fill a game with every possibility for a character to be behave in a certain way then you can't really pigeonhole them to a contradictory role in dlc.

If the bow was destined to be found killing Serana is still the smartest possible move. For what possible reason?

Serana is literally been abused, violated, tormented and further more used in a plot by harkons obsession for blocking out the sun, which was VYRTHUR's prophecy in the first place. Serana is the victim in this entire DLC and you're supposed to save her from a fate her father wanted to push onto her for his own selfish greed for more power. So much so it blinded him of the plot holes in the prophecy itself, Valerica tells us this at Soul Cairn, and further more it ruined the family as a whole.

Harkon Obsession pushed the family into separation, Serana's mother was also obsession with keeping the scrolls AWAY from Harkon and by doing so hid serana for what appears to be a era or two or hundreds of years. This also caused issues with her and the mother for centuries so both were extreme in their own opposing view points. Nothing would have been done unless serana had help and the dragonborn is the help that was necessary.

Killing Harkon and Taking out Vyrthur pretty much kills two birds in one go; One the creator of the prophecy going some false assumption his god abandoned him and left him to be infected and Harkon a crazy power obsessed Vampire Lord wanting more power and using the prophecy to block out the sun.

You take out the source and that's it. The bow is yours and stops harkon and removes a crazy snowelf vamp more effective than killing a good hearted Gelebor, dumping the bow into a ocean which an argonian can easily get or k illing serana that makes no sense. As I said the bow was destined to be found, much like the scrolls to be given to the dragon born.

Try going to 1st person on your char. Meaning you'll see what your char sees. I've done better at the sun doing that than just trying and hoping for a good aim and hit. I didn't get an achievement for doing that. But, it might be because I used the other arrow's and got the achievement for those. Welshy New Member. Guys is there any other way to get Bloodcursed arrows? Because i didn't ask Serana for any so i don't have any and now she's human, I don't want to go back so many saves because I've done so much.
