Who is teaching hyper grace

He believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that people who have an accurate revelation of God's grace have the power to lead holy and victorious Christian lives. For Pastor Prince and of course, for me as well , grace is not the license to sin, it is the power to break free from the bondage of sin. Our principle area of disagreement remains his teaching that the moment we are saved, our future sins are already pronounced forgiven in contrast with the idea that our future sins are paid for but sin is not pronounced forgiven until it is committed and brought to the Lord , but to repeat, our areas of strong and vibrant agreement are much greater than our areas of disagreement, and I want to shout out those areas of agreement to the world.

First, we both agree that it's all about Jesus. He must be central. He must be the focus of our lives. We must draw all people to Him and His atoning work on the cross. Pastor Prince also said that, rather than just say, "Jesus, Jesus" all the time, we should get back to the biblical emphasis: Lord Jesus. I say Amen to exalting Jesus as Lord. Second, we both agree that many if not most believers often struggle with guilty consciences, failing to realize the depth of God's love for them and failing to understand what Jesus did on their behalf, and so it is essential to ground them in grace.

I also shared with Pastor Prince that whenever I teach on the errors of hyper-grace, I begin by extolling God's true grace, seeking first to open up that glorious revelation.

Third, we both agree that God calls us to holiness, that sin is terribly destructive, and that true grace will be manifest in a holy life. Prior to our time together, he sent me a compilation of video clips in which he stated plainly that if a man in his congregation claims to be a believer and is living in adultery, he will tell that person plainly that he is not living under grace otherwise sin would not have dominion over him and that he needs to repent, drop that other woman, and go back to his wife.

He said he would also question whether that man was a real believer, since a true believer may fall into sin but will not practice sin. In his own words from a forthcoming chapter he wrote for a joint compilation on grace , "If you hear of any 'grace' teaching that tells you it is all right to sin, to live without any regard for the Lord, and that there are no consequences to sin, my advice to you is to flee from that teaching.

You have just been exposed to counterfeit grace. Others have cast off the preaching of holiness in the name of grace, continuing their slippery slide to destruction. Like the article? Share it with your friends!

Many of these same churches allow people to minister in music, as small group leaders, and even as ministers with no personal accountability while looking the other way when they are living sexually immoral lives and regularly engaged in drunkenness!

This is nothing new. For centuries the Body of Christ has wrestled with something called antinomianism anti means against; nomos means law. This is the belief that the moral law of the Old Testament has been done away with, and that, once we are in Christ, there is free grace in which we can almost live any way we want since we are not under the law but under grace.

Thus, according to this view the Old Testament is not that important to read except for metaphors, types and symbols regarding the coming of Christ. The New Testament is all about grace and does away with the Old Testament law! Of course, Paul the apostle warned against this sort of thing in Romans when he rhetorically asked: shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

His response: God forbid! How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer in it? The first thing Jude the apostle says in his epistle in the context of contending for the faith in verse 3 is that ungodly men amongst them were turning the grace of our God into a license to sin. This in spite of each of the Ten Commandments being directly cited or taught indirectly in the New Testament.

Obedience to the Ten Commandments the moral law is also taught indirectly as in 1 John which instructs believers to stay away from idols from the second commandment regarding not to make a carved image to worship ; and when Jesus said that the greatest commandment in the law is to love God with all the heart, mind and soul Matthew which corresponds to the first commandment regarding having no other gods before Him.

Paul makes it clear in Romans that the law is holy, righteous and good and that the purpose of being filled with the Spirit of Christ is so the righteousness of the law would be fulfilled in us Romans —not so we can just float around as spiritual beings without any standards for obedience and disobedience! Although we cannot be saved by following the law because everyone is guilty of breaking the law according to Romans , God uses the moral law as the standard of righteousness in which to judge us of sin.

So then, what does Paul refer to when he says that we are justified apart from the law Romans through grace as a gift Romans ?

This we know because circumcision Romans ; Galatians and animal sacrifices Hebrews are always brought up in context of Paul teaching that the law has been nullified in Christ. Thus, Paul is affirming that the ceremonial law has been done away with in Christ because He was the perfect lamb of God who took away the sins of the world John and in whom by a single offering of Himself Hebrews abolished the law of commandments and record of debt that were against us Colossians , because we violated them.

In Him we are no longer obligated to follow the levitical system for, although the Old Covenant terms are no longer in effect and faded away Hebrews , the New Covenant clearly is a more perfect continuation of the Old Covenant because of its prophetic fulfillment in Messiah Hebrews The following are signs of a hyper grace church:.

The preachers never speak against sin. That is to mirror us our fault which now lead us to Gods better covenant, otherwise we insist on our good works. The Old Covenant was established to prove all humanity is guilty before God. The Law was given to stir up sin not curtail it. Read Romans.

The Old is not a vital part of the New. Paul revealed the Old is obsolete and vanished away. We can find Jesus in the Old certainly.

Hyper Grace is an oxymoron. I see jealousy among churches toward other ministries. Stop it. We have a common enemy. We need to stop the division inside the body of Christ. Hyper grace or abounding grace? I think that hyper-grace means extending the concept of grace to include that idea that we do not need to obey God.

Shall we sin that grace may abound [hyper]? Claudia I challenge you to look at the greek word abounding, when Paul refers to Grace as Grace abounds. The purpose of grace is not to ignore sin , but to overcome sin through the power of faith. Otherwise Jesus died for nothing. Salvation is not a free pass, but it is a commitment between the believer and the Almighty god. He gives grace to the humble, our we humble living a lifestyle contrary to the example left to us by Christ himself who did no sin , neither was there any guile found in his mouth.

Solomon left us with this, hear the conclusion of the whole matter, fear god and keep HIS commandments. I did not say the Law of Moses…. James says that in many ways we all stumble. There is, however, the issue of claiming that grace implies that a Christian should freely sin Shall we sin that grace may abound? Let it not be. Yet every Christian is a Dr. In the great intercessory prayer of Paul for the Ephesians the only action a Christian is to do is faith: Christ by faith may dwell in your hearts.

Grace is the great principle accessed by faith. And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light and thy justice as the noonday. Grace is the basis He will make. Righteousness with good works is the inevitable result. Hyper grace is a extremist distortion.
