Should i buy ibank

Please fix this. I have issues with my Banktivity 5 and wondered if this would cure them? Besides I like to keep upgrading anyway. I gave a good 3 moths test to Ibank and decided against it.

Awsome product. They seem simple enough to fix. You simply want the lines details of the total. The way to do is rather misterious — especially if you have split trasactions. It seems that you have to place the tag while being in the account you want the tag to be, not on the split line where the account is indicated.

I could not get it to work. You should be able to have a report of transactions with the account on the line, not as sub-total. With these three small changes, it may be the right time to switch…. I am still using iBank 4.

They have no support to explain why this is happening. Can you advise on how best to proceed? I use Banktivity 6 on a Mac. I also have a MacBook that I use when not at home, can I use the software on both Macs to keep my accounts up to date? I still have the old iBank software on my Mac and iPhone. Until recently due to the upgrade I am no longer able to use it on my phone. Do I have to repurchase the software as Banktivity? If I have to repurchase as Banktivity, will my iBank data transfer over?

However, I am contemplating changing my home computer for a Windows machine. Is there a Windows version of Banktivity yet for me to migrate my accounts to? I still been a followe of ibank since ibank 4. I have the old iBank software on my Mac and iPhone. That was just what we thought a Mac app should do. At the time we were selling boxed copies in the Apple Stores, at Amazon, in Office Depot and other retailers as well as our online store.

We want to be where people are thinking about getting Mac software so this was just a natural extension. We had no idea what to expect from the Mac App Store when it first went live. Would it add to sales, or just cannibalize sales from other channels? We had a lot of ideas about what might happen but no idea what would happen. So far it has been a great ride, it has turned into our second largest channel, just ahead of our boxed channel, and behind our own online store. In fact we saw sales through our own site grow rapidly throughout year, so the Mac App Store didn't seem to take business away at all.

We have also been fairly happy with the speed of Apple's approval process when we are getting updates out to our customers. What's next for iBank? What's next for IGG? Do you plan to expand beyond iBank, iBiz and iPaste with any other finance or non-finance titles? Gillespie: We don't like to announce anything until we are completely confident of the timing and functionality. Right now we have way more ideas than people to execute them. In general I can say that we plan on building out iBank and iBiz on Mac and iOS so that each has the correct feature set for the device it is on.

We also have a lot of new features that we would like to add to each product. There is one in particular that we are really excited to be working on, but we are not ready to announce anything. Right now we don't have any brand new titles on our road map, but we do have some exciting ideas for where to take our existing product lines. TUAW: Could you comment on your development team and how you assembled it?

I hear you have fresh, new talent that has come over from Intuit. Why would they leave a position with a large, stable company to join a start-up? Gillespie: We have been building up an incredibly strong development team. We believe in hiring the right people for the right job, not just filling a seat with someone.

So everyone here at IGG is great at what they do. Over the last year we have hired new two developers who used to work for Intuit. I decided to give it another try with iBank 5.

I created a new budget and it prompted me to identify the Accounts I was going to use or keep with all and the Categories I was going to use or keep with all. The next step again went through all of my Scheduled Transactions and found expenses. I noticed one of the expenses was wrong, so I clicked the Edit button provided, only to receive an error telling me I could not edit the transaction template from there.

So, you will need to make sure all of your Scheduled Transactions are correct before going into the Budget process, otherwise, you have to abandon the setup and go correct them. The Budget will then be created. The envelopes will be exposed under each Category you originally setup an envelope for, and transactions will be credited or debited from the envelope, giving you an electronic view of each of your physical envelopes. Very nice. The only strange behavior I saw was that since I have our Paychecks defined with all of the deductions, those become budget categories.

There are a few problems in iBank 5. Rob Pickering. The Updates Several new features in iBank 5 will have Macintosh finance aficionados jumping up and down and clapping their hands: Bill Pay — You heard it, you finally have that long-lost feature back in your Personal Finance software, thanks to IGG Software you will now be able to connect directly to your bank for bill payment.

Once only available on the iBank for iPad, this update brings it to your desktop. Budgets will also now auto-update based on changes and will synchronize to iBank for iPad 2. Budgets were probably the weakest area of iBank previously. Interface Changes The interface is completely redesigned, without looking totally unfamiliar. Clearly the Update Everything feature removed 4 of these by itself.

The others re-appear elsewhere in the UI. The first pair of buttons provide Adding and Removing transactions. Provides the tools, tips, and know-how to help you proactively plan, save, spend and achieve your financial goals.

Banktivity gives you the power to finally take complete control of all your finances. Pay down debt. Buy a car or a home. Our comprehensive suite of insights, tips, tools helps you can take on every financial goal with greater confidence and focus. Monthly bills. Credit cards. Bank accounts.

Retirement savings. Investments and more! More than a mere budget tool for you to react to, Banktivity gives you an interactive financial dashboard to proactively manage all aspects of your finances. It is worthy of consideration for anyone who is looking for a financial management tool capable of handling more than just basic savings and checking accounts.

If you really want financial software that's both easy to use and powerful, this is the one. You can drive it in first or sixth gear, and it works no matter. Also, very stable software, and I love how it syncs across devices and from my bank accounts. The software is extremely flexible, allowing manual entry, OFX or Direct Connect to update your accounts. You have total control of your finances.
